Today is International Granny Square day. Join the crochet/knit community on Instagram to make a virtual granny square blanket. Remember to use the hashtag #grannysquareday2016 so that your square will appear among the rest of the squares posted today! Here’s my granny square contribution:
The past two weekends were spent manning booths at craft fairs / bazaar. Last Saturday’s bazaar was a small scale affair held at Aliwal Arts Centre. Nonetheless i made friends with fellow booth owners and met up with old acquaintances. Here’s my booth set up:
Since there wasn’t much of a crowd, i managed to whip up a few things including this lil bear coin pouch:
It was a pleasure to get to know a fellow crocheter who came with her son. The boy sure supports local makers. He already bought an elephant softie from the stall in front of me and was very interested to buy one of my amigurumi.
The week before, from 5 – 9 Aug 2016, i shared a booth with fellow makers: Sarras Dolls (specializing in disney princess cushion dolls), OhMyLunaa (makes excellent handmade books) & Sewq (who believes in a sustainable lifestyle and sews cloth liners, cloth envelopes and wet bags among other things) at Esplanade Festival Village. The crowd was excellent most of the time, even on weekdays. Here’s my space on the first day:
It’s my first time doing a booth for a stretch of five days. I must say that i should have more stocks before taking up such a booth in future (as you can see, it’s rather bare). Coz every night i had to crochet like crazy to replenish my stocks. But it was well worth the lack of sleep to get wonderful feedbacks from those who bought my products as well as receive compliments about how cute and well made they are from those who stopped to browse at the booth. Here are two feedbacks posted via instagram:
Thank you all for your support! It means a lot to me. =)
